Folks, I've always looked at the Great White Throne judgment a little differently than most. I've never been able to square the idea that everyone at this judgment is going straight into the lake of fire. Oh, there will be the rebels there to be sure but I could never justify the idea that everyone there was a rebel.

Today I was browsing Steven Collins web page. Steven Collins, for those unfamiliar with him, is best known for his books on the 10 lost tribes. Anyway, Steve recorded a one hour talk titled "How Many Will God Save" and linked the audio on his home page. Sounded interesting. I downloaded it. I listened to it. It actually scared me more than any hell fire and brimstone message ever did. Oh, and it isn't even a hell fire and brimstone message. Y'all nab it, spend an hour listening, then come back and discuss. I thought at first that this sounds a lot like universalism but it wasn't at all. Do I have your curiosity factor up?

Will do Researcher... I actually just finished Francis Chan's recent book "Erasing Hell". Evidently, it was his attempt to refute Rob Bell's book "Love Wins". I haven't read Rob Bell's book, but I wasn't overly impressed with Chan's. I am definitely not a universalist, but it seemed like he avoided several key areas such as the second resurrection and the great white throne. Thoughts?

Can't comment cause I haven't read that book. I'll go check out what folks on Amazon are saying about it though. That goes for both books you mentioned by the way.

Thank you researcher for posting Steven Collins' teaching on the Great White Throne Judgment. I find his explanation on this subject quite enlightening and one that makes the most sense! For so long I thought the Bible is silent on the details about this period but again it shows the Bible always explains itself, one needs to go to other books both in the OT and NT to find the answer; although sometimes the answer is staring us right in the face yet we still won't see it until God decides it is time for us to understand.

i like to use the word of God to try figuring out some man's opinion, ok, no i don't, but in the white throne it is clear some are found written in the book of life, still. so before the w.t. Christs wife (us) has made herself ready, thats done, we all live in the big house (new jerusalem), the 1st resurrection has taken place (tribulation saints) the millenium and the final gog/magog rebellion, so now the dead are to be judged...

2tim4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

so He judges us, the quick, at His appearing (rapture), and the dead at His kingdom (white throne)

now it seems that those still found in the book of life will send their glory and honour, with their kings, to the city of God, for all eternity...

rev21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

now remember, we are the nations that are saved, walking in the light of our God and our city, they are the ones who are found written in the book of life from the white throne, that inhabit the new earth...

Thanks for reminding me about Steven Collins. I can relate to this teaching and tend to give it more credence than others because I already agree with so much of what Steve teaches. Have you checked out that timeline? I am usually skeptical of such things although I do recognize the times and seasons but I've been fooled by specific dates before.

I'm assuming by timeline you are referring to the modified Ron Reese timeline posted by EMF. I just posted something over on that thread in answer to a comment that you made. Go and see.
